The Wabaunsee County Commission approved Resolution 2026-27 to grant Conditional Use Permit #756 to Tillman Infrastructure, LLC, agent for Patrick Erwin, to erect a 305-foot guyed tower with a 10-foot lightning rod on a 75'x75' leased premises at 14953 Dry Creek Rd, Maple Hill, KS. The Planning Commission had approved the CUP unanimously and the county commission vote carried 3-0 (moved by Commissioner Nancy L. Hier; seconded by Commissioner Boyd Ivan Davis).
Patrick Erwin (via Zoom) said the agreement allows the county to utilize the tower under a contract for "$1.00 per year." He described site protections including a 60'x60' fenced compound and bollards placed along the guy wires to prevent vehicles from driving through them. Erwin said the tower is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
