Davis Community Center reports busy December, new programs and events

Director Bandemer reported a busy December for the Davis Community Center, including a signed agreement with the Silver Fit program for seniors, the start of new fitness classes, steady room rentals, and West Carroll Middle School practices using the facility. The center plans three Sunday basketball tournaments and said the Mini Food Center remains active working with local churches to pick up and collect donations.
Bandemer also reported an upcoming community event hosted by the Lions Club: a free gym and pizza night on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The director noted frequent catering inquiries and — during a later ordinance discussion — indicated that the center regularly receives calls about including alcohol with catering, though the center itself "will not provide it or will sell it."
