The Village of Mount Morris Board of Trustees met in regular session on Jan. 27, 2026, at 7:00 PM and unanimously approved the minutes of the Jan. 13 meeting. Trustee McConnell moved to accept the minutes and Trustee Rojas seconded; upon roll call all trustees present voted "Aye."
The board also voted to accept current bills as presented after a motion from Trustee Kolling, seconded by Trustee Fay; the motion carried with unanimous "Aye" votes. The meeting record notes the Village Treasurer and press were absent and Attorney Bush was present.
Several routine procedural motions were recorded: a motion to enter executive session at the end of the meeting to discuss pending litigation under section 2(c)(11) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act was made by Trustee McConnell and seconded by Trustee Fay and passed on roll call. The board later voted to close the regular session at 7:15 PM and reconvened at 7:49 PM; the meeting adjourned at 7:49 PM on a motion by Trustee Hopkins, seconded by Trustee Rojas.
The minutes were signed by Brooke Duffy, Village Clerk, and Phil Labash, Village President. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 10, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Village Board Room.
