The City of Mount Carroll will move residential garbage pickup from Tuesday to Wednesday because of scheduling changes with the hauler, Republic, council members said. Alderman Mike Risko said he spoke with Republic representative Matt Pivot and reported "the City does not have a choice to keep the day and that do to scheduling it will move to Wednesdays." He added there will be two trucks in town at the same time — one for garbage and the other for recycling.
The council recorded the change under old business and did not indicate a formal objection; the item was presented as an informational change that staff will implement and communicate to residents.
