Council hears police vehicle update; new Tahoe expected

Chief Cass and Police Chairman Doug Bergren told the council the department’s new Tahoe will arrive in a couple of weeks. Mayor Carl Bates asked why officers had been driving a Tahoe owned by the City of Lanark; Chief Cass said the Lanark Tahoe had been stripped of its computers and other equipment and could not be driven in its current state.
The department also reported the Durango’s brakes had failed recently but that the vehicle had been repaired and returned late that day. No action or equipment purchase was authorized at this meeting.
