Mount Carroll council approves $452,265.80 in payables, 2024 TIF payments and cancels Dec. 24 meeting

The Mount Carroll City Council approved its Nov. 12 minutes and the payment of 30 claims totaling $452,265.80 in a roll call vote on Nov. 26. Mayor Carl Bates called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.; the roll call showed five voting members present and Alderman Paul Kaczmarski absent.
Council also approved the city’s 2024 TIF payments during the same meeting and voted to cancel the Dec. 24 regular meeting, delegating approval of any accounts payable that would fall due in that interval to the Finance Committee. The council reported total bank account balances of $4,613,890.72 at the time of the meeting.
All votes recorded in these items were formal roll call actions. The motion to approve payables passed 5 yes, 1 absent; the TIF payments motion and the cancellation of the Dec. 24 meeting likewise passed on roll call with the same attendance pattern.
