Street superintendent reports Jackson Street concrete, backhoe cab replacement estimate

Street Superintendent Eric Dauphin told the council crews poured concrete on Jackson Street for a V-gutter storm runoff and expected that work to be finished by Friday; he reported the Rapp Street hill by the library had storm runoff completed, been blacktopped and had rock placed. Dauphin said he had spoken with Erickson Paving, which will provide a paving estimate but will not be able to perform paving until next year.
Dauphin said the 1996 backhoe cab is “completely rusted out,” and the mechanic can obtain and install a used cab for about $4,500. Alderman Mike Risko asked about a Reid Law lot alteration permit; Dauphin said he did not have responsibility for that matter and the council agreed to hold a License & Ordinance Committee meeting to consider it.
