The city administrator announced an open house for the City of Anamosa comprehensive plan on 05/06/2025 from 5 to 7 p.m., saying staff is working with ECICOG to gather public input. "Please feel free to stop by and check that out," the administrator said.
Shane Brown, street superintendent, reported on the recent community cleanup event: crews started early and by noon had filled multiple dumpsters, including 2.5 dumpsters of steel and at least one dump-truck load of tires. "I feel like it did very well...we filled 2.5 dumpsters of steel," Brown said, calling the day a win for the city.
Aaron from the library announced a Resume 101 workshop and lab and said the library will host a job fair on April 27 (Sunday), inviting employers to table; the library said it could accept hiring materials from employers unable to send staff.
Police Chief Eric Worling also reported that city crews completed the demolition at 122 South Carnivillo on April 7 without injuries, describing the lot as leveled and finished and noting positive public feedback.
