The Lantana Town Council unanimously approved a $1,693,330 contract with BDI Marine Contractors LLC to harden the seawall at Bicentennial Park, after staff said the town received eight bids and BDI was the lowest responsible and responsive bidder.
"The bids for this project were open on November 4, and the town received 8 submissions," the project presenter said, and staff confirmed funding will come from two previously awarded grants and town budgeted funds. Council moved to award the contract and authorized the town manager to execute the agreement and any amendments; the vote carried 5-0.
Council members stressed the project is near-ready. Staff said they would issue a notice to proceed and that the contractor would begin ordering supplies immediately. Public comment was closed without speakers on the item.
