Suffield Senior Services sees higher lunch attendance; plan to augment rides cleared by legal

Bethany Sullivan, Senior Services coordinator, told the commission that April’s Advanced Directive session featured Attorney Hess and that a Core Presentation on streaming versus cable was scheduled for June 9, 2026. Sullivan said lunch attendance has increased, noting that some attendees were added to the lunch subsidy list, and described a successful staff outreach to a previously disengaged senior.
Under old business Chair Robin Zatony reported she had spoken with Peter LeClerc and town legal counsel, who approved a plan to augment senior rides. LeClerc is expected to receive scheduling software in July or August; the plan calls for rides that cannot be provided by staff to be handed off to vetted volunteers, who must show insurance and capability to provide service.
