Neighbors and business groups split between strong support and parking‑safety concerns

Five members of the public spoke during the hearing. Proponents emphasized community engagement and local economic benefits: Mike Diborski, who lives adjacent to the site, told commissioners he believed the project "fits" and complimented the applicant's outreach. Jillian Miller, executive director of the Louisville Chamber of Commerce, said the chamber supports the project because additional housing "helps our employers attract and retain employees" and strengthens Main Street businesses.

But several neighbors urged caution on parking and circulation. Michael McClure, who lives in the Delo Townhomes directly across Griffith, warned that Cannon Street and Griffith are narrow and that parking overflow could create safety and emergency access problems. He asked commissioners to "please consider parking in traffic" and pointed to recurring damage to traffic control devices at the Cannon–Griffith approaches as evidence of practical issues. Commissioners acknowledged those concerns and indicated staff and the applicant should continue to address parking and pedestrian safety as the project moves to council.
