Kane County approves $500,000 for Assessor/DMV remodel to address HVAC and plumbing damage

Commissioner Patty Kubeja moved to approve proceeding with the remodel contract using $200,000 from Building & Grounds (between this and next year) and $300,000 from the MBA (between this year and next) for a total of $500,000 to cover construction, soft costs and contingency. The motion carried with all commissioners present voting in favor.
Staff described the approach as functional and minimalist to extend the building's useful life; commissioners directed staff to finalize contracting details and timelines before commencing work.
