Five‑County AOG seeks larger Kane County contribution to build reserves

Bushman proposed a new funding model to build a financial reserve that would allocate contributions roughly 65% from counties, 25% from cities and 15% from school districts. Under that model, Kane County's annual contribution would rise from about $18,000 to roughly $26,000. Commissioner Celeste Meyeres led the discussion and invited staff follow‑up on the county's budget implications.
The presentation did not include a formal vote on approving the new AOG funding formula; commissioners accepted the report and asked staff for more detail on implementation and timing.
