Wilbur council moves forward on pool repair after MRSC guidance; lifeguard training noted

Clerk/Treasurer Melissa Bulger told the council that the Municipal Research and Services Center (MRSC) advised the town that the pool work is a purchased service rather than a public-works contract, meaning a formal bid process is not required. "We are not required to do a bid process since it is considered a purchased service and is not a public works contract," the minutes record Melissa reporting MRSC's guidance.
Melissa said she has attempted to contact WMS Aquatics but had not received a reply and that the council decided to move forward with the current bid. She also reported that the Davenport Pool offers a lifeguard certification instructor who can train new lifeguards and provide recertifications for existing staff, which the council noted as a resource while it recruits or schedules staffing for the coming season. Council Members Shawn Phelps and Rich Jaeger plan to work with the public works crew to inspect decking and assess plumbing repair needs before contracting work proceeds.
