Board approves three-year Stryker Lifepak ProCare repair agreement for EMS

The Board of Bids and Contracts voted to approve a three-year Stryker Lifepak Lucas ProCare field repair agreement for Emergency Medical Services valued at $250,449.75, with a contract period of Jan. 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2027.
Paul Gibson of EMS described the Lifepak monitor-defibrillators as the department’s standard on every ambulance and said the maintenance agreement covers repairs beyond EMS’s internal capabilities, annual preventive maintenance (including software and hardware upgrades), battery replacement and FDA reporting for any device critical failures. "A Stryker LifePak monitor defibrillator is what all of our medics use, they're on each 1 of the ambulances. It measures vital signs, waveforms, gives CPR quality, It's our life saving device that we use every day," Gibson said.
Board members noted the contract price reflects a 25% discount from manufacturer list price and will be paid in three annual payments of $83,483.25. EMS said the devices were purchased new in 2020 and have an anticipated seven-year life expectancy; the maintenance term is intended to carry the fleet through that period. The board approved the motion to accept the quote after questions and discussion.
