Sedgwick County Fire District No. 1 voted unanimously on Nov. 20, 2024, to adopt the 2024 Kansas Homeland Security Region G Hazard Mitigation Plan.
Chairman Beatty moved to approve the recommended action, saying, "So I'll move to approve the recommended action to adopt the Kansas Homeland Security Region G Hazard Mitigation Plan." The motion was seconded and the clerk called the roll; five ayes were recorded and the resolution carried.
The adoption was presented to the fire district as the same line item that had been discussed earlier by the Board of County Commissioners, and the chairman noted the plan applies to both bodies. No members of the public signed up to speak on the item during the public agenda.
After the vote, the clerk confirmed there was no executive session for the fire district and Chairman Beatty officially adjourned the Fire District No. 1 meeting and returned the meeting to the Board of County Commission.
