Jim Aguiar, Building Commissioner, told the commission that "the current ramp does not meet ADA code and should be corrected to meet the current standards." Commissioners recommended preserving the historic appearance where possible and asked staff to communicate the guidance in a formal letter.
Commissioner Paul Healey moved to send a letter with the Commission’s recommendations to the Building Inspector; Commissioner Tony Kucikas seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The Commission did not set a specific timeline for construction; the letter is intended to guide the Building Department during permitting and design review.
