Public Works Director Keck updated the committee on ongoing infrastructure work and recommended awarding construction and engineering contracts for the final clarifier gate replacement at the wastewater treatment plant. Keck said the FY27 budget included $550,000 for the project and that the city had secured a DCEO grant of $150,000 toward the work.
Council approved the recommendation to contract Leander Construction Inc. for $357,000 for the clarifier gate replacement and to authorize Baxter & Woodman for construction engineering not to exceed $47,940. Keck explained the work will replace three sluice gates—one in the aeration tank/fluent junction box and two in the final tank and fluent structure—to restore flow diversion, isolation for maintenance and volumetric control. Funding will come from grant funds and the sewer depreciation line item.
