The Board’s facilities discussion included several operations and athletics items the district plans to address through Measure M projects. David Flores said the district would like to upgrade and install baseball/softball lighting districtwide to ensure equitable facilities; he also flagged EHS for dugout and batting cage upgrades. Flores told the Board the Transportation Yard has outgrown its current space because of an increased inventory of cars and buses and needs updating to support district operations.
Staff characterized these items as among early-round projects and said cost figures were preliminary. Directors asked that site-specific needs be coordinated with campus administrators as design work moves forward. The Board did not take immediate action on these items but incorporated them into the FMP’s draft project list for further design and budgeting.
Next steps: include athletics and Transportation Yard projects in architect designs and refine budgets before issuing bids.
