Bill Savage, the district's facility consultant, summarized the procurement: an RFP was issued after a mandatory site walk attended by 12 firms; six proposals were submitted and scored by the evaluation team; two firms were shortlisted and Landmark achieved the highest cumulative score. Savage described the scope — main building renovation, seismic upgrades, and a replacement classroom building to serve as temporary housing — and said the evaluation/design criteria work and destructive testing are required by DSA.
Kevin Brennan of the Landmark team told the board, "We're really excited for the opportunity to join your team and, you know, take on this, exciting project." Board members praised the interview process and emphasized community engagement and safety plans; the contractor committed to minimizing disruption and to hold community outreach events. The board approved the site and facilities lease and the preconstruction service allowances necessary to start work and complete DSA filings.
