Sunyvale board backs Prop 2, sets appropriation limit and recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month

On the consent calendar, board members approved the unaudited financials. The board later moved to adopt Resolution 25‑03 expressing support for California Proposition 2 (a state education facilities bond). "I move approval of resolution 25‑03, to be in favor of California proposition 2," said a trustee; the motion carried by voice vote.
The board also approved Resolution 25‑04 to set the GANN appropriation limit, a technical constitutional calculation staff prepared. Finally, trustees adopted Resolution 25‑05 recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15–Oct. 15). Several trustees asked for a future agenda item to align district activities and communications with the recognition so teachers and staff are not surprised and so implementation is meaningful and timely.
