Parents urge after‑school catalog and say many would pay as district weighs sliding‑scale fees

"I envision this as a chance to say, you know, for your school, here are the different programs that are available...Here are the grades that are eligible, if it's subsidized or not, either capacity or if there's a long wait list," Jandison said, urging staff to partner with PTAs and the Sunnyvale Education Foundation to gather demand.
Paul Slayton and board members discussed vendor models that could allow parent‑paid spots. Slayton said Right at School currently operates 30 grant‑funded spots at several campuses and "they have the ability to open extra spots" that parents would pay for directly; details of any sliding scale were not yet negotiated.
Board members asked staff to compile program fees and vendor models so the board and community can evaluate whether parent‑pay options could fund additional staffing or expanded capacity without undermining the district's ELOP priorities.
