Council members on May 14 approved two AirMedCare Network agreements that extend emergency air medical transport coverage to Edisto Beach residents and town employees.
Wes McAden, Director of Global Membership Sales for AirMedCare, previously presented membership options at the May 12 workshop and answered questions from council members and residents about geographic and benefit limitations. Council voted unanimously to accept a Municipal Site Membership for residents at an annual town cost of $2,465 and a Group Full Census Membership for employees at $2,750, both effective June 27, 2026. The resident agreement covers medically necessary air transport originating from Charleston County or Colleton County; Mr. McAden said an upgraded benefit that removes that geographic restriction is available for purchase and the form is posted on the Town website.
The motions to approve were made by Council members Jerome Kizer and Jay Watts and carried unanimously. The resident contract will be funded from the General Fund Maintenance Contracts budget. The minutes note the employee pricing is unchanged from the prior year.
