District reports LCAP midyear progress; trustees ask for AP comparisons and CTE focus

Associate Superintendent of Instructional Services Leo Perez presented the Local Control and Accountability Plan midyear report at the Feb. 10 board meeting, reviewing progress on each of the district’s four LCAP goals.
Trustee Joe Ayer asked how Advanced Placement test scores compared with neighboring districts; Perez responded that Shasta High School had the highest pass rate in the area. Trustee Ron Zufall expressed that CTE concentrator totals are more important than CTE completer totals for measuring early career pathway engagement and asked administration to prioritize that measure in planning. Perez said he will gather community partner feedback this spring to inform next year’s LCAP.
