Associate Superintendent Jason Rubin explained the waiver’s operational change: the ESY waiver would allow the district to provide services to identified students with special needs using a 15‑day, six‑hours‑per‑day instructional model rather than the district’s traditional 20 days at four hours per day. Rubin said continuing the waiver keeps the district aligned with neighboring districts' ESY practice and retains services for identified students.
Trustees closed the hearing with no public comment; the waiver and accompanying documentation will be agendized for the March 10 board meeting for further consideration.
