The Westfir City Council approved Resolution 579 to transfer funds from the Banner Bank checking account to the Local Government Investment Pool to earn interest on the city's reserves.
City Recorder Nicole Tritten explained the transfer and Councilor Deretta Huey read the resolution aloud before moving approval; the motion carried 4–0. Nicole also submitted financial materials and reported the city must refund $2,353 in unobligated American Rescue Plan Act funds to the U.S. Treasury; the repayment was budgeted in the current fiscal year. Separately, the council approved May 2026 expenditures totaling $59,946.05 by motion (4–0).
The approvals authorize the transfer and expenditures as presented; the ARPA refund will be processed per federal requirements.
