Sewer fund adds debt service to repay interfund loan after wastewater plant remediation work
Summary

Randy Stark read the Sewer Fund line items and the committee discussed a new debt-service line Nicole Tritten added to the budget to repay an Interfund Loan taken in the current fiscal year. Tritten said the loan paid for solid-waste removal work at the wastewater plant that was necessary to address noncompliant coliform levels in the plant's effluent.
The addition of debt service increases Sewer Fund requirements in the draft budget. Committee members asked whether there were pending repairs and discussed how the loan repayment would affect future budgets; staff said they would provide additional detail on repayment timing and amounts in updated materials.
