Shasta Union seeks roughly $6 million in state CTE funding for Ag and Natural Resources projects

At the Nov. 12 meeting, Associate Superintendent of Instructional Services Leo Perez told trustees the district will apply to the state CTE Facilities Program for approximately $6 million to fund Agriculture and Natural Resources facility projects at Foothill High School and the District Farm. Perez said the requested funds would be matched with Measure M dollars and that CTE Internship Coordinator Bret Barnes assisted on the applications.
Perez emphasized the application deadline and next steps: the district’s applications are due to the state by Dec. 1, and he said staff will update the board as information becomes available. The Board subsequently approved the CTE Facilities Program Grant Applications as RES. 25-255 on the consent agenda.
