Westfir council approves three RTMP grants totaling $6,000 for local events

Later, Mayor Richard Watson moved to award $2,250 to the Oakridge Keg and Cask Festival (fundraiser for the Oakridge Food Box); Councilor Huey seconded and the motion carried 3–0. Finally, the Council voted 3–0 to award $2,500 to Rock the Park after reviewing the event application despite the event representative, Kevin Gobelman, being absent.
Council members noted limited RTMP funds remaining for the fiscal year when considering larger requests; the Keg and Cask Festival request of $4,500 was trimmed to $2,250. The motions and roll-call results were recorded in the minutes for audit and accounting.
