Public Works Director Tony Boyd updated the committee on multiple maintenance projects. He announced a recent hire on the maintenance team and said staff, working with the playground architect RHA and committee members, will remove two small hump features at the playground that raised trip-hazard concerns, while keeping the remaining humps grouped in the tots area.
Tony Boyd told the committee that "staff has settled on a plan to remove 2 of the humps," following discussions with RHA and committee members. He also said a neighbor has offered to donate funds to improve city-maintained plantings along Lagoon Road and that a donated drinking fountain at Land Company Park is being installed and connected this week.
On larger infrastructure, Boyd described a Beach Road seawall stabilization project planned for summer 2026 that will use a steel sheet pile wall to repair and provide seismic stability along the seawall between Main Road and China Cabin. He also described a citywide infrastructure assessment that will inventory assets and forecast maintenance needs over the next 20 years; staff said the assessment will complement the subcommittee's lane survey.
