Byron council adopts utility billing date change and new fire special-operations fees

The City of Byron Mayor and Council unanimously adopted two ordinances on April 14: Ordinance #2025-5, which amends Chapter 40 (Utilities) to change the utility billing date, and Ordinance #2025-6, which amends Chapter 18 (Fire Prevention and Protection) to establish special operations and response fees for fire protection services rendered within city limits.
Both ordinances passed on second reading by recorded motions (2025-5 moved by Chris Hodges; 2025-6 moved by Alan Dorsey) and were approved unanimously. The council also approved a related resolution updating the Byron Fire Department Schedule of Fees, effective April 15, 2025; the resolution text and Exhibit A are on file with the City Clerk.
