City staff presented the second reading of the standardized triennial building code update and explained it includes council‑requested modifications to align with housing regulations, sprinkler requirements and window provisions.
“This is the second reading of the standardized triennial building code change…Those amendments have been made,” the staff presenter said. The council moved to adopt the ordinance on second reading; the mayor called for a voice vote and the motion carried. Staff said the updated code will be incorporated by reference and become effective on 01/01/2026.
The council made no further substantive amendments at the meeting and closed the public hearing after no members of the public spoke.
