Belvedere shifts coyote response oversight to Marin Humane, will update residents

Mayor Cooper told the council that, following conversations with Marin Humane leadership, the city will transition oversight of local coyote response to Marin Humane.
“Marin Humane has begun working directly with the community of Novato on a wildfire wise program,” the mayor said and added that Belvedere would move the coyote efforts "from oversight from Belvedere to Marin Humane oversight." The mayor said the city’s website coyote‑awareness page will remain active, will be updated with Marin Humane contact information and the city will email residents who submitted reporting forms.
The council thanked the wildlife consultant Rebecca Dimitryk for assistance with the transition. No formal council action was required: staff will implement the operational handoff and public communications.
