Council hears regional transit coordination plans; local routes largely unchanged

A council member who attended a Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM) workshop described efforts by Marin, Sonoma and Golden Gate agencies to better coordinate buses, ferries and other services to improve connections along the corridor.
The speaker said the plan rethinks how services would operate “if all these agencies and services didn’t exist” and aims to synchronize endpoints so passengers transferring at hubs like Strawberry Village face shorter waits. “They’re going to implement real changes in April, which won't affect much of us at all on the Peninsula,” the council member said, noting local route 219 through Tiburon is expected to remain the same.
Council members noted concerns raised by Sausalito and the Canal area about benefits for their riders, and asked staff to verify whether other local routes (including Redwood routes) were included in the coordination plan.
