Sunol Glen Unified board proclaims February as Black History Month

The board read and adopted a resolution recognizing February as Black and African American History Month and urged age-appropriate learning, reflection and dialogue across the district.

A trustee spoke in support: "In this time of targeted attacks on members of minority communities across The United States, it's never, the more important that we acknowledge our past and celebrate the contributions and achievements of diverse segments of our population," said a trustee during the resolution discussion. The resolution affirms the district's commitment to inclusive education and representation in curricula.

Trustees moved to approve the resolution and it passed by voice vote.
