Chris elected board president; Erin elected clerk at Sunol Glen Unified organizational meeting

The Sunol Glen Unified School District board elected Chris as its board president and Erin as clerk for the next 12 months after a brief discussion about whether to rotate officers or keep continuity for training and stability. "Now Chris is the new president," a trustee said during the handoff and the motion to elect Chris and Erin passed unanimously.

Trustees debated the benefits of rotating officers to provide leadership experience against the advantage of continuity while two recently elected trustees complete training. One trustee said the rotation tradition is valuable, while another argued that new trustees would prefer the current president to remain for a year "as we still have a lot of training and a lot of things that, like, we kind of need to to catch up on first." The board approved the motion and then moved on to committee assignments, including adding a trustee to the policy committee to help them learn district governance.

The action followed routine organizational business at the start of the meeting; the board also added a community comments item to the agenda before proceeding through appointments and other items.
