After interviewing six applicants and hearing public comment in favor of several candidates, the board deliberated and moved to provisionally appoint Chris Boberts to the vacant trustee seat, effective Sept. 10, subject to the incumbent’s resignation taking effect prior to that date. The motion was seconded and the chair called for the vote: "All in favor?" the meeting recorded "Aye" and the motion passed.
Public commenters had repeatedly endorsed Boberts for his long volunteer service — gardening days, CBOC involvement and hands-on support. During his interview, Boberts emphasized volunteering, support for staff and a desire to "refocus" the board on students and positive school culture. Board members cited community roots and focus on the school when explaining their choice.
