The board approved a required plan to expend one‑time instructional funds (COVID‑era related) on arts, music, library materials, professional development and a temporary boost in counseling. The superintendent said the district received full apportionment in January 2025 and the funds must be expended by June 2026.
Trustees agreed to use part of the remaining balance to temporarily increase counseling from 0.4 to 0.6 FTE for 2025–26 and to invest in instructional technology and teacher devices. During the discussion a trustee corrected the superintendent's preliminary arithmetic: the balance available for spending was revised in the meeting record to $50,597. The board moved to approve the plan and passed it by voice vote.
