The Sunol Glen Unified School District board on April 26 approved a temporary permit allowing the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission to access school grounds for construction and maintenance of a water pipeline this summer.
Alicia Reinhardt, introduced at the meeting as the project manager, told trustees the contractor plans to complete work between June and Aug. 1 and that SFPUC will assign an on‑site resident engineer and a daily project contact. "Daily project contact can be me, Alicia Reinhardt, the project manager for the project," she said, describing planned kickoff meetings, signage and QR codes to keep neighbors informed. Trustees and school staff pressed SFPUC on contingency plans for student arrival and dismissal, staging areas, equipment storage and restoration; SFPUC said it will document pre‑construction conditions and restore disturbed areas within the project limits.
Board President moved to approve the permit and a trustee seconded; the motion passed by voice vote. Trustees directed SFPUC to coordinate a kickoff meeting with school administrators and to limit on‑campus disruptive activities during arrival and dismissal windows, or to conduct major work after school hours when feasible.
