Regine Monestein, the presiding special magistrate, addressed each party after staff presentations and either accepted the village's recommendation, granted short extensions, or dismissed compliant cases. "Welcome to North Bay Village's code enforcement hearing," Monestein said at the opening; at the end she thanked participants and adjourned the session.
Cases dismissed at the hearing included 08059 (7560 West Treasure Drive) and 6319 (7513 Downey Avenue), both of which staff reported had come into compliance before the hearing. Other matters — including condominium exterior repairs at 1881 Kennedy Causeway and unpermitted interior remodels at 7929 West Drive Unit 402 — were continued with instructions to submit permits and return for status or mitigation hearings. The magistrate repeatedly urged property representatives to coordinate with building staff to complete filings quickly to avoid fines.
