Staff: Riverview Park Phase 1 design near completion; Sept. 1 target for permitting

A staff member told the group that Phase 1 design and permitting for Riverview Park are nearly finished and that the team is aiming for a Sept. 1 milestone to stay on schedule.
"We are very close to having phase 1 design and permitting done," the staff member said, noting Phase 1 covers the south parking lot up to the playground and includes relocating the splash pad across the street. The staff member added there are no plans to alter the memorial beyond possible landscaping and that any changes would be run past the body.
If the schedule holds, staff expects construction to begin around Jan. 1; the staff member said they will keep the body involved in placement and landscaping near the memorial.
