Board approves community workforce agreement to prioritize local hires and apprentices

Donnie Sappington of SMART Local 105 told trustees: "This agreement would go a long way to change that for the Bellflower residents and our students," urging the board to approve the measure. Ernesto Medrano of the Building and Construction Trades Council and Ron Miller of Plumbers Local 78 echoed that support. Board discussion highlighted the agreement's potential to create student pathways and training opportunities; a motion, second and unanimous roll‑call vote carried the item.
