City staff recommended approving an agreement with Jim Max Corp. for emergency demolition services from Jan. 1, 2026, to Dec. 31, 2026, with a one-year extension option. Staff said three vendors responded to the city's proposal and selected Jim Max based on experience (over 210 emergency demolition calls) and competitive pricing. "The company will provide 24 7 on call demolition services for unsafe or hazardous structures within the city," staff told the council.
The contract is intended to expedite demolitions for public-safety reasons and to control emergency removal costs; funding will come from the property redevelopment fund. The council approved the contract on a 7–0 roll-call vote.
