Upper Hanover Township's Board of Supervisors voted to authorize advertising Ordinance No. 2025-03, which would amend Codified Code Section 500-814 to require Township-issued permits for fences and walls and to add a Fence Setback Detail.
Supervisor Ben Fiorito moved to advertise the ordinance for adoption and to schedule a public hearing; the motion was seconded by Supervisor Stefan Laessig and approved 5-0. The ordinance change would require property owners to obtain a permit from the Township before installing fences or walls and would codify the setback detail in the Township code.
The action directs staff to prepare public-notice materials and to schedule the hearing. The Board's unanimous vote to advertise is an early step in the ordinance-adoption process; final adoption will occur only after the public hearing and any subsequent Board action.
