Board authorizes citations for three properties; resident appeal advised to proceed to court

Upper Hanover supervisors authorized filing District Court citations for violations at 2543 Kutztown Road, 3091 Wild Run Road and 3051 Township Woods Road. A resident who raised the 2543 Kutztown Road issue was told the Board was not the venue for an appeal and should pursue court review.
The board authorized the township building inspector to file citations in District Court for property-maintenance and zoning violations at 2543 Kutztown Road, 3091 Wild Run Road and 3051 Township Woods Road. The motion to authorize filing citations was made by Dottie Diehl, seconded by Stefan Laessig, and carried 5-0.
At the start of the meeting a Mr. Szymanski appeared to contest the notice of violations related to 2543 Kutztown Road and asked the Board to hear his appeal. Township officials advised that the Board of Supervisors was not the appropriate venue for an appeal of the notice and directed him toward the court process; Mr. Szymanski was provided a copy of related materials and the ordinance language to review.
