Durham’s 4‑H delegate Promise McCoy to represent county at NCACC Youth Voice

Cooperative Extension introduced Promise McCoy as Durham County’s 4‑H representative to the NC Association of County Commissioners’ Youth Voice program at the July 28 meeting.
Promise, 16 and active with Kids Voting Durham and Sunrise Movement organizing, said she hopes to bring youth perspectives on mental health, sustainability and education back to local leaders. "I'm looking forward to seeing you during the Saturday Youth Commissioner lunch at the NCACC conference on August 23," she told commissioners.
Commissioners congratulated Promise and invited her to meet with them at the Saturday luncheon to discuss what county government does and how it affects young people. No formal board action was required.
What happens next: Promise will attend Youth Voice and the county will host a luncheon with commissioners at NCACC in August.
