During the July 28 meeting, County Manager Hager highlighted several awards won by Durham County departments, including multiple NAICCO Achievement Awards and a 2025 Digital Counties Award in the competitive category for counties with populations 250,000–499,000.
Hager named award-winning projects such as the county's public-facing website modernization, a Durham County elections application, the Duke Fiber implementation, and social-services case-management modernization. Commissioners and staff applauded the many departments involved and credited cross-department collaboration for the recognitions.
Manager Hager said the awards demonstrate the county's commitment to modernizing services and thanked staff for their work putting together successful submissions. The board offered public congratulations to the named departments and individuals.
What happens next: No formal board action was required; staff will continue work on the recognized projects and the county will publicize the awards.
