Trappe approves $6,875 repair, authorizes $73,992 sewer main lining scope funded by ARPA

The Trappe Town Council on April 2 accepted a $6,875 bid from Talbot Land Management to repair a ditch and entrance at the wastewater treatment plant and approved a scope of work from Livingston Septic for an ARPA-funded sewer main lining project.
Water Superintendent Shawn Lane presented price options: “Quote 1 is from Good Life Property Management for a total of $8,975.00 and Quote 2 is from Talbot Land Management for a total of $6,875.00.” Councilors voted to accept Talbot’s lower bid. Administrator Erin Braband then summarized Livingston Septic’s proposed scope: installing 1,016’ of 8-inch fiberglass pipe from manhole 3 to manhole 7 and reinstating 22 laterals for $73,992.00. The Council had previously awarded $75,000 for the project and Commissioner Rose Potter moved to approve Livingston Septic’s scope; the motion passed unanimously.
The council’s approvals authorize immediate contracting and work planning for both the isolated repair at the wastewater treatment plant entrance and the lining project; staff should follow the town’s procurement and ARPA-fund reporting requirements.
