Residents press commissioners over late-night noise from Palm Tree Club; officials say club must pay for security

During open forum, Pablo Martinez of the Kennedy House told commissioners he and other residents endure repeated, late-night loud music and that enforcement has been inconsistent. "...the noise that we have to endure, the many hours, hour upon hour of loud music..." Martinez said, recounting incidents into late hours and events that extended beyond permitted end times.
Vice Mayor Goran Cook and the mayor's office responded on the record: Vice Mayor Cook emphasized the village’s requirement that Palm Tree Club pay for its security details and said taxpayers are not covering those costs. Village Manager Rallison added that any reopening for nightclub operations will be contingent on an approved change of use, and the village will not continue to issue special event permits for nightclub activities. Commissioners thanked residents for raising the concerns and said staff will continue enforcement and follow-up with FDOT and the police department.
