Conservancy Lands Commission recommends easements; detour plans and trailhead concepts ahead

Mary reported that the Conservancy Lands Commission (CLC) met last week and reviewed the proposed permanent utility easement and temporary construction easement prepared by Strand Associates for the Century Avenue utility relocation. She said the CLC accepted the easements and recommended them for approval by the bodies that must sign and authorize the documents. Representatives from MG and E attended the CLC meeting and discussed utility coordination.
Mary also said the CLC reviewed proposed pedestrian detour and trail closure plans and saw the pheasant branch trailhead concepts; staff and transit representatives provided input. Ben confirmed the committee should expect a detour proposal at the August 10 Public Works Committee meeting for review. "So Ben, mentioned that we will see that on the August 10 meeting," Mary said.
Why it matters: the CLC recommendation clears a procedural step for the utility easements needed for the Century Avenue relocation and signals interagency coordination ahead of construction planning. The committee will review detour and trailhead designs at upcoming meetings.
